Thomas Cleo Bailey, 91, of Jacksonville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 4, 2017. He was born in Branford, Florida. He married his wife, Floride Daisy Byrd, in 1948; they were married 65 years. He loved the Lord and he loved his children and grandchildren. He instilled values in all of us that can't be forgotten. He was a member of West Park Baptist Church. He served in U.S. Army as a medic in World War II. He was employed as a city truck driver for Ryder Truck Lines...

Thomas Cleo Bailey, 91, of Jacksonville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 4, 2017. He was born in Branford, Florida. He married his wife, Floride Daisy Byrd, in 1948; they were married 65 years. He loved the Lord and he loved his children and grandchildren. He instilled values in all of us that can't be forgotten. He was a member of West Park Baptist Church. He served in U.S. Army as a medic in World War II. He was employed as a city truck driver for Ryder Truck Lines with over 30 years of service before retiring. In retirement he was a gardener that loved growing things and a wood worker that enjoyed working in his shop, making old fashion pie safes, picnic tables, Charleston swings, bird houses and other things for family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Winona Goff, Mark (Debbie) Bailey, Gloria (Rollie) Slade, Debbie (Carl Pegel) O'Steen, and Neal (Shari) Bailey; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his loving wife, Floride; his parents, Thomas and Lola Bailey; two sisters, Maple Snider and Lizzie Evans; and one brother Wilson Bailey.

The family visitation to greet friends will be held Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida. A celebration of his life will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Ronald E. Hargrove, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERSIDE MEMORIAL PARK AND FUNERAL HOME, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, is serving the family.
