Charles N. Barber Sr., (Charlie Brown), 68, a life-long resident of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on October 10, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, son, uncle, brother, papa and great granddaddy, but most of all Friend.
Charles was a member of Sonrise Baptist Church, the Brick Layers Union and West Fifth Stone Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert W. Barber Jr., mother Dorothy L. Barber and brother Skipper Barber.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert W. Barber Jr., mother Dorothy L. Barber and brother Skipper Barber.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years Mary Barber, two sons: Charles Barber Jr. and Eddie Barber (Teresa), two daughters: Christina B. Spivey and Stacy Johnson, brother Raymond Deese (Medmond), sisters: Annette Wassmuth and Pricilla Beasley, 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
His love stood strong on God's word, Putting God first then family including neighbors, friends and those in need. He had a love and passion for the woods and his dogs, but even that could not compare to the love for his children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
A proud man with a Legacy that will carry on for many years to come.
Friends and family are invited to Charlie's visitation on Sunday, October 16 from 6-8 pm at Town & Country Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at Old plank Road Baptist Church, 8964 Old Plank Rd, on Sunday at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Riverside Memorial Park. HARDAGE-GIDDENS, TOWN & COUNTRY FUNERAL HOME, 7242 Normandy Blvd is serving the family.
